What To Expect

What to Expect on your first visit to Oak Flats Chiropractic?

A warm welcome is number one on our list; we know only too well that you are likely to be a little apprehensive at your first visit to a chiropractor; not knowing what to expect can often make any of us a little nervous. Around eighty percent of new clients at Oak Flats Chiropractic are word of mouth referrals. We are very proud that so many of our clients bring friends, family, colleagues and neighbours in to see us and we make sure everyone gets exceptional service and care.

The format for a new client of Oak Flats Chiropractic or someone who has not visited us for some time is as follows:

– A full health history is taken looking into the past and present issues that may be related to your presenting problem.

– We will perform numerous orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic tests to obtain vital information about the function of your spine and nervous system.

– X-rays are an amazing way to assess the areas of wear and tear or alignment challenges that your spine may possess. X-rays will only be taken if clinically indicated.

Before any treatment begins you can be confident that we'll talk to you about your proposed care, the available alternatives and any potential risks associated with our recommendations. The more you understand about the chiropractic process, the better the results are likely to be. We'll also talk to you about our recommendations for your follow-up appointment and future care.

Your Second Visit to Oak Flats Chiropractic

Report of Findings

On your second visit your Chiropractor will discuss how you responded to your first adjustment, and go on to correlate all the exam findings, including x-rays or other tests and outline a specific treatment plan for you.

You will have the opportunity to question and discuss your case and communicate your health goals so we can understand your priorities.

Our practice enjoys high levels of patient satisfaction because we explain everything in advance.

Approaches to Chiropractic Care

  1. Symptomatic Relief Care - This stage of care is aimed at addressing your immediate concerns as quickly as possible. This is usually the most intensive stage of care, and focuses on joint function and aims to control inflammation as quickly as possible.
  2. Corrective Care - Corrective care aims to address the long-term, bad habits of your spinal movement. Improved spinal function, continued healing of injured tissues and strengthening of important muscle groups helps prevent relapses or similar injuries later.
